MySpace
Definition: MySpace is an online community that lets you meet your friends' friends. Communities can be created through linking to people with similar interests. In addition it can be used to trace old friends and colleagues, and to share content.
Use in Education: Social networking sites, such as MySpace and FaceBook have been likened to E-Portfolios. This is particularly the case across some parts of America, but could also be applied in the UK. The latest E-portfolios are taking elements of the social networking sites in order to make them attractive to MySpace and Facebook users.
Link to Example: Don't know of any concrete UK examples of MySpace use, but there is evidence of the impact MySpace is having on E-Portfolios: http://elearnqueen.blogspot.com/2007/03/e-portfolios-and-e-learning.html,
