Definition: RSS stands for Realy Simple Syndication, and the basic principle is that rather than the user spending hours visiting lots of websites (including blogs) they visit them once, decide that the site if worth following, they find the RSS feed (which is itself a web address) for that site (often represented with an orange icon), they then copy the feed into something called an RSS reader which then follows the website for them, and any changes or additions, will be sumarised by the reder. The user then skim reads the list that it produces, and clicking on any item in the list will take them to the full article.
Use in Education: The internet, as great as it is, has created a problem with information overlaod, and people working in education just don't have time to find resources within this mass of information. RSS may nto completely solve the problem, but can help to save people time.
